Subs

Stopped for gas (ouch ouch ouch) and the station had a Subway Sandwich shop inside, so I decided to get a sub for lunch. It’s a nice change from a burger.

My favorite sub shop around here is actually Jersey Mikes Subs. They slice the meat fresh in front of you and the subs are full of meat, not just bread. They have an easy way to order up the fixings you want on the sub - just order it “Mike’s Way” and there’s no more discussion or decisions. They fix it right and out the door you go.

Subway is OK but if they slice the meats any thinner they will become transparent. I like the bigger variety of toppings they have and the variety of dressings. But it’s a lot of bread and not much meat. And their new pizzas? Fuggetaboutit.

Shoneys is for Breakfast

When we want to take several people out for breakfast,, our favorite choice of restaurants has been Shoney’s. They have a buffet plus you can get fresh eggs prepared to order, or you can order from the menu. The buffet has a quarter of the space dedicated to fresh green salad items, another quarter dedicated to fruits and jellos, and the remaining half is a election of traditional breakfast foods, including scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, breakfast meats such as bacon, sausage patties, sliced ham, and fried chicken nuggets. There are usually an assortment of dirty rice, potatoes, grits, and hot biscuits.

The waitresses at Shoney’s are usually very good at taking care of the customers. They take your drink order and keep the drinks refilled. They also clear the dishes from the table as you finish with them and bring the cooked to order eggs to you. If they keep my drink refilled before it goes completely empty, I’ll leave a good tip, anywhere from $5 to $10 depending upon whether it’s just 2 or 3 of us at the table. Otherwise, I don’t feel that tipping well is due for a buffet, so I’ll leave about $1 per person in my party.

DUI Defense

In today’s world, it is getting harder and harder to go out on a date, have a glass of wine with a nice dinner, then go to a club and have a few drinks while you dance and get to know each other better, and then drive your date and yourself safely home. How is a guy supposed to know his blood alcohol level if he is out, having a good time and thinking more about getting laid than about seeing flashing blue lights in his rear view mirror?

So if the dating and club scene in Southern California - one of the hottest places to be out and to be seen - is where you are dating and clubbing, you have a really good chance of getting stopped by the police at least once in your young life and possibly facing charges of DUI. Now that is a real mood killer and real bummer to have to deal with. But if you have any chance of getting the charges dropped or some kind of plea bargain or serious legal help, it’s because you call the best DUI defense lawyers in the business. Los Angeles Criminal Attorneys | California DUI Felony Misdemeanor Lawyers

Dog Blog

If you are “dog people,” check out this blog by Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer.

Cesar shares tips on all kinds of behavior problems and how to correct them, and how to give medicine to dogs, how to train them on a leash and lots of other dog situations.

He writes in a very friendly and encouraging voice, and I check back on his site every once in a while to see what is new, he writes new blog posts about once a week or so, and they are always an interesting read. There are also short videos and links to other sites and articles that are dog and pet related.

There is also a show on cable called something like “The Dog Whisperer.” I was surfing the channels and came across it a few weeks ago, but now I can’t find it again and have no idea where to look. If you’ve seen this cable TV show and know what cable channel it is on please leave me a comment and let me know where and when to watch it.
